At Pear Tree Farm, we pride ourselves on our choice of staff. They must be experienced, skilled, trustworthy, polite and genuinely love horses and working with them. Below are our Team and some information about them.
Bella: Owner/Company Director/Manager
Bella has owned horses for some 30 years and has been working in the Equine industry for over 20 years. She has mostly run yards for people from private family yards, livery yards to a big commercial yard in Sydney, Australia. She has her BHSAI and has been teaching for around 20 years. She also has a BSc(Hons) in Equine Science. Bella has competed in most disciplines, has Team Chased and been Whipper In but her main focus now is on Dressage. She prides herself in the continuing development of her business and maintaining high standards of horse care and customer service.
Kim: Yard Manager
Kim has her BHSAI and started her career as a WP for the Colgate family at 16, where she spent four years training, competing and grooming, progressing from prelim to advanced dressage. She went on to work as a freelance groom at national and international competitions whilst also working as a rider for several professional yards in both England and Spain. She has extensive experience of yard management, both private and commercial, training unhandled youngsters, re-training from other disciplines and training staff and WPs to BHSAI standard.
Helen: Full Time Groom
Helen started riding as a small child and having her own pony, took part in all pony club activities. In her early teens she got her first horse and started competing regularly in show jumping, dressage and cross country. Finishing school, Helen began working full time with horses and has since gained valuable experience, including starting young horses from unhandled through to their first competition in both dressage and jumping. She currently competes at novice/elementary dressage and is a happy, hard working and dedicated member of the team.
